    Which snp(s) can increase the risk of endometriosis and why? While I know that it is primarily caused by environmental factors, I wanted to know a little more as to why it runs so rampant in my family…in other words, which snp is the potential culprit : )

    Hi Rachel!

    If you go to snpedia.com and put in the search bar (located on top right corner) “endometriosis” it will show you the SNPs related to a specific condition.
    Just because there is a direct relationship with a snp doesn’t mean that others cannot be contributing factors.
    For example: MTHFR is closely tied together with the FOLR genes and much more. Sterling Hill is an expert on the subject and I suggest contacting her so she can teach you about this.
