Many practitioners already have their own programs/apps for interpreting the results. If you are planning to consult a health professional, you may wish to defer purchasing this application. Unlike the previous report, which contained some basic information useful to me (a non-professional), this version does not.

This version contains what other versions and other applications do not contain. That is, an association of the biochemical pathways with the polymorphisms. The pathways are divided into a usable format it is easy to compare the polymorphisms with the pathways involved. For example the liver detox pathways are clear and contain the genes and all you need to do is look at the polymorphisms associated with the genes and you can get a basic idea of what pathways may or may not be affected and based on your clinical condition.

Interpretation of the epi genome should be done by a professional who is learned in these areas. The practitioners will create their own apps have taken an abbreviated version of one of sterling’s applications and thereby are giving you partial, inaccurate information. I’ve reviewed numerous other applications and that is the case.

I was very disappointed in using this app. It says it will interpret it but really it just gives you SNP’s and + or – it is barely better than the raw data 23and me gives. It doesn’t even tell you what TT and GG and AA even means so you can try to interpret it.

It interprets your results and puts them in pathways and diagrams. I WILL NOT NEVER EVER tell someone how to treat a SNP because that is unethical and immoral. You need to find a practitioner that treats the person and not the SNP (which can do more harm than good treating the SNP and not the person). I do have informational videos coming out in the next month or two next to the genes which will be an automatic free upgrade. I also have a webinar series coming out this summer to help you better understand. I am working 20 hours a day sometimes to get the book out for practitioners to use as a guide to SNPs which will be an index of SNPs and how they interact with one another. It is nearly 800 pages long at the moment. Some SNPs take up about 10 pages and others one page. Again you must find a practitioner and we have a list started under find a practitioner. Many do phone and/or Skype consults.

Always remember this, your genes are the hand you have been dealt and how you play your hand will result in an outcome.
So for example if I told you UQCRC2 is related to ubiquinol, and you go and take ubiquinol and your levels were not low in the first place, you could break something that is not broken. This is a roadmap and guide for your practitioner to assist in your well being and nutrition. If every SNP you had on your report that is hetero or homo was expressing, you would not be posting today. Please contact a practitioner for guidance

I live in Australia – after currently seeing a MTHFR Specialist here (Naturopaths) – they have asked me to run this report, provide it to them and they will assist me to explain my data and the best ways to supplement etc.. In my opinion this stuff is to important to attempt to interpret yourself and treat yourself. If you have gone to the expense of all this then, save your pennies and have a qualified person assist you – don’t get disheartened. 🙂

I was disappointed in this report because I thought it would say something like “you MAY have a problem with too high homocysteine due to blah blah SNP, so check your homocysteine levels and if so then try to lower them by…”. I didn’t need another report of SNPS with the ++, +-, or — that don’t tell me anything I might use to get my doctor to check or that I can go to request-a-test and check my levels on my own if my doctor won’t do it. Not everyone has enough money to get a practitioner who can interpret these. They are VERY expensive and not covered by insurance. And like Sterling says above, you just can’t treat the SNP because it might be working perfectly. And a practitioner would have to check your levels to begin with so more expense because insurance will definitely not pay for a practitioner. So that’s why it does not help me. I like the pathways diagrams though and am very much looking forward to the book for practitioners and the videos.

I just purchased the report and then read all of this…I can easily see me being a person who jumps in and tries to start treating things that might not even apply and messing myself up even further. I’m VERY interested in the videos and SNP index – are those available yet?

    Hi AmberJane,

Best to work with a practitioner who can interpret your report and provide you with the appropriate treatment advice specific to your needs.
Practitioners experienced in interpretation, methylation and nutrigenomics who can assist you are listed here http://mthfrsupport.com/find-a-practitioner/.
Many with consult via Skype or phone so may be an option to consider if not one listed in your location. Practitioner’s website can be accessed by clicking on the red icons on the listing.

The App is updated from time to time and the inclusion of videos for the various SNPs is a project currently in progress and will be launched in future updates.

As Sterling mentioned in the post above another project currently in process is the writing of a SNP guide the launch date is yet to be announced. We will keep everyone informed on the MTHFR Support Facebook page and website.

I was very upset that it did not come with interpretations. I do not a Dr. That knows how to interpret this material. I would like to know how I metabolize klonopin and Valium. That was the biggest thing I hope to learn from this report. If I pay for genome tutorial, will I learn this information?

    Hello aiyanamayal,

You would need to work with a practitioner to have your report interpreted. It is a complicated process and best done by an experienced practitioner. It is not included in the genome report tutorial.
This listing https://mthfrsupport.com/find-a-practitioner/ has practitioners who are experienced in interpreting, methylation and nutrigenomics. Many will consult via Skype or phone globally.

The reason why interpretations are not included in the report is because treatment is individual and what the results might mean for one person can be different for another. Many factors not just SNPs need to be taken into account when putting together a treatment for an individual it is not just based on the results of the variant report.

    Hi mharkansas,

We have commenced adding The SNPbits videos to the online report. This will be an ongoing gradual process. You can see those already added in the Liver Detox Phase 1 and 2 sections which are highlighted in the More column in blue. Just click on the + icon to access the link to the videos from the drop down menu box.

The SNP Learning Series commenced last week. You can find more information about that here https://mthfrsupport.com/2015/07/snp-learning-series/

I bought the report in July, 2015. You say the new report has more snps. Do I have to pay again? Also, I cannot find what you refer to: We have commenced adding The SNPbits videos to the online report. This will be an ongoing gradual process. Where is this? I am logged on and don’t see it. Can you provide a link? Thank you.

    Hi mharkansas,

No you do not have to pay for the report again, all updates are free and are automatic meaning any new SNPs or features added will be showing immediately online. We do suggest you download a new PDF after updates to reflect any new SNPs added.

    Re the SNPbits videos:

Look on the right hand side of your screen where you will see the report.

In the Liver Detox Phase 1 section at the top of the report do you see blue squares on the left hand side of the report with an + symbol in the middle of the square. Click the + icon and you will see a drop down box with the rsID#, a link to SNPedia and below that a link to the SNPbits video. Click the link then press the play button to view the videos.

You will also find SNPbits videos in the Liver Detox Phase II section as you scroll down the report.

Not all the Liver Detox Phase 1 & 2 SNPs have SNPbits videos yet. The videos are being added gradually. It’s a time consuming and costly process but the team are doing their best to add them as quickly as possible.

You can also view the SNPbits videos on the official MTHFR Support YouTube channel here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX3uZTiYVhWkRT2utgVhftg/videos.

If you have not already done so please like the MTHFR Support Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/mthfrsupport which is where we announce updates etc so if you have your settings so you can receive notifications you will always know what’s happening at MTHFR Support.

There are no practioners near me. I also imagine it would be expensive and not covered by my insurance. In the genome tutorial report will I be able to find out if I am a rapid metabolizer of CYP3A4? I am not looking for medical advice. What does the genome tutorial tell you? I am disappointed that I can’t interpret any of the information. The livewello report did interpretations of certain things like that I am a rapid metabolizer of CYP2C19 and other information. This report gives none. The other one is also only $20.00.
